Dear Simon Sangale Nasieku and comrades of the KENASVIT We've heard that the mayor of Nairobi, Kenya, is enforcing crackdown and repression on street vendors and hawkers of Nairobi. The mayor and the city council police tortured a hawker to die. A major international conference called Africities for African mayors with over 7000 delegates is about to be held from 18-24 this month of September in Nairobi. We are deeply worried that the mayor is enforcing repression under the cloak of street beautification. We Korean Confederation of Street Vendors strongly demand the mayor to stop repression on street vendors and hawkers. We are also human-beings and we have rights to live and to enjoy international events.
