한국 전국노점상총연합 동지들에게 드리는 연대 메시지
우리 잠비아 비공식노동자협의회연맹은 2008년 6월 13일에 개최되는 전국노점상총연합의 21주년 대회를 축하드립니다. 우리는 비공식노동자, 특히 한국의 노점상들이 매우 어렵고 야만적인 상황에서 고생하고 있음을 잘 알고 있습니다. 마피아와 같은 조직폭력배들을 정부가 투입하고 정직하게 살고자 하는 노점상들을 벼랑으로 내몰기 때문입니다. 한국 정부는 모든 노점상들의 생존권이야말로 기본적인 권리라는 것을 알고 노점상들을 인정해야 합니다.
한국 정부가 도시미관이라는 명목으로 노점상들을 철거하려고 시도하는 것은 무지의 소산이며 세계 시민들로부터 지지를 받을 수 없습니다. 우리는 탄압과 구속, 비공식노동자들을 거리에서 철거하면 문제가 해결된다는 근시안적인 부당압박을 중단할 것을 요구합니다.
한국 정부는 시민들에게 영향을 주는 많은 문제들에 대해 해결책을 찾기 위해 마지막까지 노력하고 논의하는 세계의 다른 나라들의 모범을 배워야 할 때입니다. 노점상을 포함한 비공식 노동자들 또한 예외가 아닙니다. 비공식 노동자들도 자신들의 삶에 영향을 주는 제반 사항에 대해 말할 권리가 있습니다.
사회적인 대화야말로 문제를 해결하는 가장 현대화된 방법이며 한국정부 또한 이를 따라야 합니다.
대책없는 강제철거를 중단하십시오.
우리 전 세계의 노점상들은 다른 노동자들과 같으며 가족들을 부양할 수 있도록 존엄한 존재로서 생계를 꾸려나갈 권리가 있습니다.
모든 이들에게 경제적, 사회적 정의가 실현될 수 있기를 바랍니다.
성공적인 대회가 되기를 바랍니다.

SOLIDARITY MESSAGE TO KOSC-June 13 2008
The Alliance for Zambia Informal Economy Associations (AZIEA) would like to congratulations the KOSC on its 21st Anniversary Congress and rally to be held on the 13th June, 2008. We are aware that informal economy workers especially Street vendors in your country have been operating under very difficulty and barbaric conditions which orchestrated by government through mafia type groups and the process losing innocent lives. Government should know that the right to earn a living is a fundamental economic right for all including Street vendors which should be recognised.
The tendency by your government to evict street vendors in the name of cleaning the town is blind folded and can not be accepted by civilized citizens of the world so we are calling for the stop to the harassment, imprisoning, and intimidation that accompanies the economic injustices that comes from seeing informal economy workers as a short-term problem that can be "cleaned' from the street.
It is time for the Korean Government to join other nations of the world that are engaging with stake holders in finding lasting solutions to the many problems affecting its citizenry.
Informal economy workers including street vendors are no exception, they must be part of resolutions that affects their well being.
Social dialogue is the only modern way of solving issues and the Korean Government should lead by example.
Stop the practice of forced evictions without finding alternatives for them.
We the Street vendors of the world are like any other workers, and so we deserve to earn a living with dignity in order to put food on the table to feed their families
