우리 국제노점상연합은 한국 전노련 동지들의 21주년 6.13대회를 축하드리며 더불어 연대의 인사를 전하고자 합니다.
한국의 노점상들은 누차 한국 정부에게 노점생존권을 보장할 것을 요구해왔습니다. 거리 미관을 위해 비공식 경제에 종사하고 있는 노동자들을 청소할 수 있다고 저들은 생각합니다. 이러한 잘못된 정책으로 계속되고 있는 탄압과 협박은 즉각 중단되어야 합니다.
우리 국제노점상연합은 한국 정부가 노점상들을 대화의 주체로 인정하고 제대로 된 대책 없는 강제철거를 중단할 것을 촉구합니다. 우리 노점상들도 다른 노동자들과 마찬가지로 거리에서나마 장사를 하여 가족의 생계를 꾸려나갈 권리가 있습니다. 그렇기 때문에 우리는 존엄합니다. 당당합니다.

StreetNet International sends the warmest message of congratulations and solidarity to KOSC on its 21st Anniversary Rally and Congress on the 13th June, 2008. Street vendors in South Korea have been sending a clear message to the government that the right to earn a living is a right that should be recognised. There must be a halt to the harassment and intimidation that accompanies the economic injustices that comes from seeing informal economy workers as a short-term problem that can be "cleaned' from the street. StreetNet calls on the government to engage with street vendors in social dialogue and to stop the practice of forced evictions without finding alternatives for them. Street vendors, as much as other workers, deserve to earn a living with dignity in order to put food on the table to feed their families.
